At Home Restaurant (K-5)

For this week’s creative activity, you are going to create an at home themed dinner.

All you need is:

  • a piece of paper for the menu

  • real or fake food

  • guests for the restaurant

For example, you can do princess, superhero, or tropical themes. The dinner I designed for this week will be a Classic Diner theme. On the menu we have burgers, fries, and milkshakes. My restaurant is called Averie’s Diner, but you get to be creative and make up your own crazy names. Once the menu is set, add prices to each food item. It is easiest if you use fake money, since this isn’t a real restaurant. If you are using real food, please have help from a parent when using the oven, stove, and microwave.

Fun tips and tricks:

  • Set the table like at a restaurant

  • Dress up matching the theme

  • Decorate the room to match the theme

  • Try a new theme each week!

I hope this activity helps you get creative and to try something new. Leave a comment down below of which restaurant theme you chose and what food was on the menu!
