Well-Being Checklist

Hello Monticello!

I hope all of you are staying safe, healthy, and mindful. This week I decided to change things up a bit, so instead of having a blog for you to read, here is a check list or a list of things that we can do today, tonight, tomorrow, or next week! These are a few things that you can either be grateful for, or things you can do to improve your mood or your space.

  • Make your bed that way when you go to bed tonight or for your mid afternoon cat nap, you have a nice made bed to get into.

  • Get out of bed and stretch instead of sitting on your phone for twenty minutes before you actually get out of bed.

  • Sit in the sun for a few minutes, sitting in the sunlight can help you feel a sense of relaxation and warmth. It allows for a little self meditation:)

  • Do or start the homework or project you have been putting off, being home all day can be an easy way to weasle yourself around doing it, starting is the hardest part!!

  • Clean/ tidy your room before you go to bed: I started doing this and it is so incredibly refreshing to wake up to a clean room.

  • Listen to your favorite artist, song, album on repeat. What’s stopping you from listening to something that brings you so much joy?!

  • Drink water!!!!!!

  • Take a bath or shower to give yourself an instant reset on your day.

  • Take a walk, whether it's around the block or two miles long.

  • Talk to someone outside your house, while staying in your house.

And though everything around you feels uncertain, know that there are a few things that are always certain. You will always have at least one person in this world that loves you and supports you. I’m certain you are going to make it through this school year and through this weird time. And lastly, I am certain that you are capable of amazing things, no matter who you are.

Stay safe Monticello!
